Louis "Louie" McBride discovered his passion for cooking at a young age. His journey began with the guidance of multiple chefs during his time in Boy Scout Troop 219, where he had the privilege of learning under the mentorship of a Michelin-starred chef. This early exposure to the culinary arts ignited Louie’s lifelong enthusiasm for cooking.

As an adult, Louie continued to nurture this passion by sharing his knowledge, teaching culinary skills to young scouts as a leader in Troop 219 and Sea Scout Ship 912. Over the years, he explored a variety of culinary styles, ultimately honing his expertise in Italian, Scottish, Irish, English, and Southern cuisines.
Known as the "Southern Dragon" among friends, Louie’s distinctive approach to barbecue inspired the phrase, "The Taste of the Southern Dragon BBQ." At Louie Louie Bar B Quie, his signature style—"by frying pan and by fire"—brings bold, authentic flavors to every dish he creates.
